Component C in Domain 4 of the Danielson framework is devoted to the relationship between teachers and families, and the connection between the classroom and the home. One way that a teacher fulfills these responsibilities is by providing regular information about student progress and learning to parents or guardians. Distinguished teachers go further, however, by offering opportunities for parents to be involved with student learning, while respecting the limiting factors that may prevent many parents from participating in some or all of these opportunities. Communication can also include parent-teacher meetings, monthly progress reports, newsletters, or the prudent assignment of projects that involve family members.
